Wound assessment and Management
Clinicare QLD provides experienced wound nurses who can care for and manage acute and chronic wounds. We have the skill and knowledge to recognise and treat an array of complex wounds and can continue to support staff to care for clients with ongoing wound care. Advocating for our clients, we are able to liaise with your GP or medical team to implement appropriate wound care plans specific to the participant.
Wound management and care includes:
- Acute Wounds: A wound which occurs suddenly and progresses through the stages of healing as expected.
- Chronic wounds: A wound which fails to progress or progresses slowly through the stages of healing. Healing can be greater 4-6 weeks.
- Surgical Wound: A wound which is secondary to surgical intervention. E.g Scalpel incision, surgical drain.
- Non-surgical wound: An acute or chronic wound which is not secondary to surgical intervention.
